Every Thursday, Macaroni Kid Macomb shares the top five things to do with your kids in and around Macomb for the coming week. There are so many wonderful local events happening in Macomb, Shelby, Utica, Washington, Ray, and Chesterfield.

Here are Macaroni Kid Macomb's picks for the top five things to do in the Macomb area with kids from 12/30 to 1/6. Click on the links for all the details!


1. Preschool Fair at the Clinton Macomb Public Library Main Branch

Need to figure out preschool options for this coming fall? Head over to the Clinton Macomb Public Library Main Branch to check out some preschools in our area.  January 29th: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

2. Drop-in Family Coding Hour 

Drop by the Shelby Township Library to practice some foundational skills in understanding coding. Computer skills are not required for this session. January 29th: 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

3. Science Olympiad: Wildlife Safari- Birds

Come to the Stony Creek Metropark Nature Center to help prepare for the Science Olympiad. Students will learn about the basics of bird identification, explore their habitats and adaptations, and participate in a "mock event" to test their knowledge and get your students used to the rotation process. This event takes place January 29th and 30th: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m to 4 p.m.

4. Miniature Art Gallery

The Ray Township Public Library is hosting a Mini Art Show. Drop by the library and paint a 3 x 3 canvas with acrylic paints. You will get to name your art piece, and it will hang in the library for the month of February in the art show. February 1st - 28th during opening hours at the Ray Township Public Library

5. Home School Classes Exploring Ecology

Join the Nature Center in learning about different ecosystems and how humans play a part in them. February 2nd: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
